About

 History

In 2017, visionaries noticed an overwhelming need to create a stronger alliance amongst black and minority nurses in Northwest Indiana.  The Lake County Indiana Black Nurses Association (LCIBNA) was formulated with Michelle R. Moore as its Founder and President. Lake County Indiana Black Nurses Association established its officers and co-founders to help develop and grow their chapter. Those individuals included Dr. Sunya Watson as its Vice President, Acquanetta McKinney as its First Vice President, Sonya Mitchell as its Secretary, Selma Banks as its treasurer, Robin Worsham as Committee Chairperson, and Teresa Edwards-Allen as its Community Liaison.

Mission

The mission of the chapter is to support communities in need through volunteer efforts, assist nursing students through scholarship and mentorship, and educate people regarding the health disparities that affects our community.
